Engineering Manager Embedded Software Development Aerospace

Your role in the team

• Supervise the execution of the embedded software development, technical activities, plan and allocate resources for projects.
• Determine needs for trainings and adding capabilities.
• Provide domain know-how and consultancy for product managers and in technical sales activities.
• Lead the team to deliver best results (regarding quality, scope, and time) and manage team performance in an inspiring & motivating way.
• Create effort estimations and project plans with technical leaders in the team.
• Improve and standardize domain-specific processes, procedures, and workflows.
• Execute decisions of the management/board and inform superiors about important issues.

• This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade ("Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe") and we offer a minimum salary of € 77,000 gross per year.
• Actual compensation can be well above this standard.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of development processes for safety‑critical development in aviation, space, medical devices or automotive (DO‑178C, ECSS‑E‑ST‑40 or similar).
• Ability to create a good work atmosphere in an inspiring, visionary and motivating way.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and organize work within an international environment.
• Fluent communication skills in English.

Experience

• Several years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Experience in leading a team of software developers and managing suppliers.
• Experience with project management and dealing with business processes.

Education

• University degree in computer science, software engineering or another relevant field.
