About the role
Job Purpose
We are looking for a senior, delivery-focused Engineering Manager to lead end-to-end health technology project delivery. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and deep healthcare domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will drive architecture, execution, and client success while ensuring secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple health technology projects, including scoping, SOW creation, estimation, planning, governance, and successful go-live and handover.
- Manage delivery execution across schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, escalations, budgets, SLAs, and client satisfaction outcomes.
- Work hands-on in development using AI-assisted tools and modern IDEs by writing production-grade code, reviewing code, building prototypes, and using AI-assisted development tools to improve speed, quality, testing, and documentation.
- Design, provision, and operate secure, scalable, high-availability health systems on AWS or Azure using modern cloud, container, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD practices.
- Define architecture direction through system design, architecture decision records, technical roadmaps, and security-by-design and privacy-by-design practices.
- Lead interoperability and integration work across health interoperability and messaging standards, including integrations with EHR/EMR platforms and health information exchanges.
- Bring strong healthcare domain understanding across primary, secondary, and tertiary care workflows, and act as the senior technical lead for clients, vendors, and health system stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, lead design and delivery reviews, and strengthen delivery quality through reusable playbooks, templates, and implementation practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MCA, or equivalent.
Experience
- 8–15 years of software engineering experience
- Minimum 4 years in senior technical or delivery leadership roles
- Experience delivering healthcare or enterprise-grade solutions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep, hands-on expertise in healthcare interoperability and common standards
- Demonstrated experience integrating with EHR/EMR platforms and onboarding EHR sandboxes.
- Strong backend development skills in one or more languages/platforms: Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js / TypeScript. Comfortable reviewing and debugging full-stack systems.
- Demonstrated deep architecture ability: system-level design, data modelling, identity and consent, multi-tenant design, scalability and high-availability patterns.
- Experience building scalable, secure health systems with operational readiness, disaster recovery and monitoring.
- Cloud experience with one or more popular public cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure, is required.
- Strong security and privacy knowledge of common frameworks and practices in the healthcare domain
Nice to Have
- Proven track record leading implementations and professional-services-style delivery for healthcare projects, including SOW scoping, estimation and governance. Prior delivery experience within the US healthcare ecosystems and programs
- Experience integrating clinical AI/ML or LLM-based features into production health workflows.
- Familiarity with automation platforms and BPMN engines.
- Cloud or security certifications (AWS / Azure, CISSP, CCSK).
- Experience working across primary, secondary and tertiary care providers and an understanding of differences in workflows, data sources and integration patterns.
