Engineering Manager - PHP

Requirements

• You have worked in cross-functional product teams and bring a vast experience in engineering of scalable web applications.
• You are an experienced Engineering Manager who approaches technical challenges pragmatically, choosing tools and architectures that fit both the problem domain and the organization.
• You communicate clearly and effectively, know how to create alignment, and understand what matters, especially in a remote and distributed setup.
• You already have some experience in a management role and building successful teams and you are motivated to grow even more in the role of a successful Engineering Manager.
• You are fluent in English (C1) and enjoy working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Building, developing and enabling high performing teams who build awesome products is the main responsibility for our Engineering Managers.
• You will initially focus on hands-on technical tasks like an individual contributor allowing you to gain a deep understanding of our infrastructure and systems so that you know the code inside and out before adding managerial responsibilities to your plate.
• Based on your experience, you will start by leading the engineers of one product team in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment, with a clear perspective to expand to multiple teams as responsibility and impact grow.
• Depending on team size and setup, you will remain hands-on to a reasonable extent, especially where technical guidance, architectural decisions, code reviews, or complex problem-solving are needed.
• You will contribute to strategic initiatives that are larger than your team(s) like raising the engineering bar, improving our guidelines, and defining how we work as an organization.
