About the Team

You will join the Platform Management Software team, a dynamic and supportive group distributed across the globe. Our culture fosters professional and personal growth, and you will report directly to the Director of the Platforms team. Your Role • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, nurturing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. • Drive the design and development of infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to high standards of scalability, performance, and reliability. • Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to define and execute a product roadmap that considers market trends and customer feedback. • Oversee the complete product development cycle, ensuring quality and usability from design to release. • Implement and enforce best practices in software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration. • Stay informed of industry trends to shape technical strategies and address complex, large-scale challenges in multi-hardware environments. • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate insights from engineering, product management, and customer success into development cycles. • Set clear objectives for the first year, which include scaling the engineering team, launching key product features, and enhancing product quality and performance.

What You Will Bring • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, emphasizing cloud-native infrastructure and data management platforms. • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams of 8-10 engineers. • Hands-on expertise in Python, Golang, and PostgreSQL, along with a strong grasp of software development processes. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed software systems is highly desirable. • Familiarity with project management tools and continuous delivery pipelines. • Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM (preferably KVM). • Preferred experience in hypervisors, containers, container orchestration, and hybrid/multi-cloud settings. • Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • A proactive mindset with a focus on solving difficult problems that span across multiple teams.

Work Arrangement

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending remote work with the benefits of in-person collaboration. In locations subject to our workplace policy (such as San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration and team alignment.
