Qualdoc Staffing is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of low-voltage power distribution systems, with a strong focus on switchboards supporting data center applications.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of electrical and mechanical engineers
  • Establish clear accountability, ownership, and delivery expectations
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables including designs, drawings, and specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools

Design & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the design of low-voltage switchboard systems (UL 891, UL 1558 as applicable)
  • Ensure alignment with customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and system requirements
  • Guide system architecture including breakers, bus systems, controls, metering, and protection schemes
  • Support standardization and modular product development for scalability

Commercial & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with sales and estimating teams to support quoting, BOM development, and technical alignment
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are production-ready and efficient
  • Interface with customers for design reviews, technical clarifications, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with supply chain on component selection and vendor alignment
  • Support commercial efforts to ensure technical accuracy and constructability

Quality, Compliance & Testing

  • Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, and applicable data center standards
  • Support factory witness testing (FWT), validation, and commissioning
  • Maintain documentation for certifications, testing procedures, and design validation

Program & Project Oversight

  • Manage engineering timelines to meet aggressive project schedules
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design phase
  • Support project teams in executing large-scale data center programs
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business goals

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong experience in low-voltage power distribution or switchboard design
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of UL standards, NEC, and data center power systems
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, sales, and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to balance technical detail with big-picture execution

Compensation Insight

Target salary range is $160K–$180K, with flexibility depending on experience and background. Feedback on market compensation is welcome as part of the hiring process.
