About the role

Overview

The primary responsibilities for the Engineering Manager, Program Management and Tooling are to engineer, develop and transition activities necessary to bring products from quotation to manufacturing, ensuring that products meet customer requirements and are able to be manufactured effectively. Work within a team to develop product cost estimates and quotations for customers.

DUTIES AND RESPOSNSIBILITIES

Program Management:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of key programs from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Define program objectives, success criteria, and KPIs, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute program deliverables, managing risks and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, resources, and budgets.

Tooling Strategy and Development:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of tools that meet customer requirements and enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements for new tools or requirements for transferred tools to ensure they meet the customers’ needs.
  • Oversee the integration of tools into existing systems and processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party solutions or custom-built tools, ensuring they align with long-term goals.
  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies, and propose solutions to streamline operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Tooling Technicians, Program Managers, and Manufacturing Engineers, providing guidance and support for professional and personal growth.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for program requirements, tooling specifications, progress, and post-mortems.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in Engineering or 5+ years of relevant technical field experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
  • Direct customer interface experience
  • Should have relevant experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, electronics) - medical preferred
  • Experience in qualification of complex tight tolerance injection molds
  • Min 3 years of experience with validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Knowledge of plastics materials (engineering and commodity grades).
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes used in plastics.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes used in tooling for the injection molding industry.
  • Knowledge of molding equipment, techniques and tooling.
  • Knowledge of Secondary equipment uses.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experienced with CAD software (SolidWorks) is desired.

Pay

$125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
