Engineering Operations Manager

About

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to lead civil and structural design efforts for high-voltage substations and switchyards. This role oversees engineering teams, project execution, and operational performance while supporting strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers and designers
• Manage daily operations, resource planning, and workload distribution
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution across multiple projects
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and all applicable codes and standards
• Support proposals, client relationships, and change order negotiations
• Monitor budgets, KPIs, and overall operational performance
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering
• PE license required
• 10–15+ years of experience, including 5+ years in leadership
• Strong background in substation/switchyard and utility infrastructure design
• Proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects

Skills

• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools
• Knowledge of grading, foundations, and structural systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Additional Requirements

• Onsite in Alexandria, LA (relocation assistance available)
• Up to 25% travel
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
