Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Natick, MA, for a Engineering Program Manager. The individual will oversee New Product Development and R&D initiatives, engineering concerns, manage prototype production operations, and coordinate developmental program timelines, staff, and deliverables.

This role will include leading cross-functional technical programs from concept through deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives. Tasks will bridge engineering, operations, product development, manufacturing, and leadership teams to coordinate complex initiatives, manage technical execution, and drive program success in fast-paced environments.

Additional responsibilities include developing and managing project timelines, defining program milestones, tracking deliverables, mitigating risks, and facilitating communication across internal and external stakeholders. This will involve resource planning, process optimization, vendor coordination, documentation management, and oversight of prototype development, validation, and production readiness activities.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding, knowledge of defense systems, and exceptional organizational and leadership skills, thriving in environments that demand rapid problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration. Travel will be up to 30% and may include field test activities in austere environments. Candidates familiar with military equipment or with military background and experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in development and management of Hardware products (no software applications)
  • Experience with Textiles and/or applied material science
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience in related career fields
  • Strong Program Management and Project Management skills
  • Experience in R&D and test and evaluation
  • Knowledge of advanced materials or defense systems
  • Excellent Analytical Skills for problem-solving and decision-making
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, technical, or engineering field; advanced degree preferred
