About the role
Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established engineering consulting firm with a strong presence across the Northeast. Our client is seeking a Project Manager to support continued growth across their civil and infrastructure project portfolio. They are hiring at multiple levels, from experienced mid-level Project Managers through Senior Project Managers, creating strong opportunities for professionals at different stages of leadership and project responsibility. The ideal candidate will come from consulting engineering, civil infrastructure, municipal, water/wastewater, land development, transportation, or another project-driven technical environment with transferable leadership experience.
*Candidates must have water/wastewater experience and be a Licensed PE
Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers work on-site at either location in Concord or Portsmouth, NH and/or field-based at project sites depending upon project flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through planning, design, permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout.
- Manage scopes of work, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and client expectations.
- Coordinate internal engineering teams, outside consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Serve as a primary client contact and build strong long-term relationships through successful project execution.
- Oversee preparation of plans, specifications, reports, technical memorandums, and cost estimates.
- Maintain quality standards through strong QA/QC processes and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor project financial performance including invoicing, forecasting, change orders, and cost controls.
- Support construction phase services including meetings, contractor coordination, submittals, and issue resolution.
- Mentor junior staff and help develop internal engineering talent.
- Senior-level hires may also lead proposals, presentations, business development efforts, and broader team leadership initiatives.
Qualifications and Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
- Valid Professional Engineering (PE) license in the state employed required.
- Prior experience managing engineering or infrastructure-related projects.
- 5+ Years of experience as a PM - Project Managers / 10+ Years PM experience - Senior Project Managers are encouraged to apply.
- Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, project execution, and client communication.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, developers, or public/private clients is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering/project management software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- High level of ownership with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
