Intermediate Project Manager

Insight Global is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to join a leading automation company based in Waterloo, Ontario. This role plays a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering complex automation projects while balancing scope, quality, schedule, and cost to meet contractual requirements and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects from initiation through closeout.
• Develops detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Tracks progress, manages risks, and provides accurate forecasts and reporting to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborates closely with cross‑functional engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
• Coordinates internal and external resources.
• Mentors team members.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for customers to ensure clear communication and satisfaction.
• Documents customer requirements.
• Negotiates project trade‑offs.
• Organizes project data to ISO 9001 standards.
• Conducts post‑project evaluations to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in project management, managing complex projects within an automation, automotive, nuclear, life sciences, or similar industry
• 3+ years of experience in engineering preferably within industrial automation
• General knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo controls, PLC and robotic equipment in ISO 9001 environment
• Strong knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, Excel

Nice to Have

• PMI or PMP is an asset
