This manufacturing facility is committed to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. The team is looking for a hands-on Engineering Services Engineer who will take ownership of all maintenance, custodial, and contractor activities at the Gayley plant. This role is ideal for someone who excels at managing people, implementing predictive maintenance programs, and utilizing data to drive operational performance.

Day-to-day

This role focuses on maintaining and improving plant equipment reliability through rigorous oversight of maintenance teams and controlled documentation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the safety process within your area of responsibility and enforce all plant and departmental safety policies.
  • Manage and provide oversight for all maintenance and custodial associates, including interviewing, onboarding, and training.
  • Track utilization within the Work Order System (CMMS) to ensure goals are met for all maintenance tasks and activities.
  • Plan and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs for all plant machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE to identify patterns and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory for critical spare parts, tools, and materials to minimize downtime, including sourcing and purchasing replacements.
  • Oversee contractor activities, from vetting and hiring to monitoring on-site safety compliance and maintaining contractor profiles.
  • Coordinate special projects by defining scope, planning resources, and reporting on execution and objectives.
  • Maintain controlled documents, including standard work, procedures, and checklists for all maintenance positions.

What You’ll Need

  • 3-5 years of related industrial experience, including 2-3 years of direct supervision of both employees and subcontractors.
  • Strong technical foundation, being mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of building and equipment maintenance principles.
  • Analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills to identify issues and implement fact-based judgments.
  • Proficiency in office tools, specifically Excel and MS Office, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor information clearly for different audiences and practice active listening.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage short and long-range courses of action while anticipating obstacles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
