Job Overview

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering projects at the Pointe?Claire manufacturing site, including continuous improvement initiatives, Innovate to Value (i2V), new product development (NPD), and new technology initiatives (NTI). The role ensures compliance with technical requirements, schedules, and budgets while effectively managing resources and leading engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects in accordance with Ingersoll Rand’s Project Execution Framework (IRPX).
  • Supervise and coach a small engineering team, including activity planning, role assignment, performance monitoring, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross?functional teams to improve product design, performance, and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Support engineering activities for critical projects, including concept development, prototype design, project execution, and implementation of solutions in the plant.
  • Design, implement, and oversee testing programs to ensure compliance with specifications and functional requirements.
  • Maintain and improve test benches; supervise prototype testing activities and analyze test results.
  • Evaluate existing products based on feedback from manufacturing, quality, assembly, and customer service to drive performance improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including supply chain and operations.
  • Work closely with customer service, technical support, and manufacturing to resolve issues related to existing and new products.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing of rotating equipment (gears, pumps, cast components).
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and leading teams.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; relevant experience in industrial equipment design will be considered.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, and compressible flows (assets).
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems; Inventor, SolidWorks, CREO, and Windchill preferred.
  • Experience with FEA / CFD tools such as Ansys and/or Converge (assets).
  • Basic knowledge of programming and ERP systems (assets).
  • Ability to work in a fast?paced, dynamic, and results?driven environment.
  • Bilingualism required (French and English)
