SMX is excited to announce an opportunity for a Program Director to lead a vital enterprise cybersecurity initiative that safeguards national infrastructure and drives exceptional program outcomes. This role requires a passionate leader who can convert complex cybersecurity objectives into effective technical solutions while thriving in a dynamic and regulated environment.

This is a full-time on-site position in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Program Leadership: Shape and execute actionable plans that align with customer cybersecurity objectives.
  • Clear Communication: Articulate technical details effectively to diverse stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with program managers to ensure cohesive and efficient program delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a diverse team of cybersecurity professionals to achieve all program goals.
  • Account Management: Oversee timely management of personnel account access, ensuring compliance with protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control processes to guarantee that deliverables meet high standards and compliance requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold adherence to Intelligence Community Directives, DoD regulations, and implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) across all activities.
  • Cybersecurity Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments in line with Intelligence Community and DoD standards to identify and mitigate threats.
  • Integrated Cybersecurity Practices: Infuse cybersecurity strategies throughout all project phases to enhance overall program resilience.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage cybersecurity metrics to inform strategic adjustments and prioritize initiatives.
  • Transparency with Stakeholders: Ensure stakeholders are kept informed about cybersecurity incidents and program status, building trust and strong relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to boost cybersecurity defenses and adaptation to emerging threats.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Facilitate collaboration among cybersecurity analysts, incident responders, and IT support teams to align efforts for success.
  • Strategic Adaptability: Formulate long-term cybersecurity strategies that align with DoD priorities and respond to regulatory changes effectively.
  • Risk-Based Decision Making: Navigate the balance between cybersecurity needs and operational demands for secure program delivery.
  • Incident Response Oversight: Direct the response to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring effective detection, containment, recovery, and subsequent analysis for improvement.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness and Mentorship: Promote a cybersecurity culture and mentor team members on best practices.
  • Performance Measurement: Develop and track performance metrics to support strategic decisions and continuous advancement.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

  • Active TS security clearance with eligibility for SCI and NATO access before commencing work.
  • Education: Master’s degree in STEM with 10+ years of leadership in IT projects, or Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 15+ years of IT project leadership experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • CISSP or CASP+ certification with IAM Level 2, along with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 certified.
  • Certified Scrum Master is a plus.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner is advantageous.
  • Experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on Army Intelligence programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years serving as a project manager in cybersecurity initiatives.
