About the role

Role Overview

Our client is looking for an Enterprise Integration Architect who will serve as the central architectural force connecting the organization’s technology ecosystem, ensuring platforms, data, and integrations operate as a cohesive whole.

Rather than owning a single system, this role architects across the enterprise—ERP platforms (multiple, due to acquisitions), financial systems, Salesforce, business intelligence, e-commerce, and dozens to hundreds of third-party integrations. This individual defines how systems interact, how data moves, and how the architecture scales as the business continues to grow through acquisition.

This position requires a system?agnostic mindset, strong technical depth, and exceptional influence skills, as the architect leads direction across teams without direct reporting authority.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Integration Strategy

  • Own and evolve the enterprise-wide architecture vision across applications, platforms, and data.
  • Act as the primary architect responsible for “stitching together” a fragmented application landscape.
  • Define and implement integration design patterns, standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Lead enterprise integration strategy spanning:
    • ERP environments (including SAP and legacy ERP platforms)
    • Financial and operational systems
    • Salesforce and customer-facing platforms
    • BI and analytics ecosystems
    • External partners and third-party platforms
  • Ensure architecture decisions support scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability in an acquisition-driven environment.

Integration, Data & Platform Architecture

  • Drive architecture for integration platforms, with the current environment centered on Boomi (experience preferred but not required).
  • Support and influence data architecture initiatives, including:
    • ETL strategy
    • Master Data Management (MDM)
    • Data consistency across ERP, CRM, and downstream systems
  • Architect and guide API-led and event-driven integration approaches.
  • Partner closely with ERP, SAP, data, BI, and cloud architecture teams to maintain consistency and alignment.
  • Provide architectural oversight to Salesforce integrations and broader CRM ecosystem connectivity.

Leadership, Influence & Collaboration

  • Lead architectural direction through influence, aligning diverse teams around shared standards.
  • Collaborate with:
    • ERP and SAP architects
    • Data and BI architects
    • Integration and middleware teams
    • External vendors and technology partners
  • Guide internal teams, including integration developers, ETL resources, and data architecture functions.
  • Present and defend architectural decisions to technical leaders, business stakeholders, and executives.
  • Translate between business objectives and technical execution with clarity and confidence.

Key Initiatives & Near-Term Focus

  • Support and expand a rapidly growing ecosystem of third-party integrations (including large platforms such as ServiceTitan).
  • Lead architectural direction for a new e-commerce platform selection and implementation.
  • Drive Master Data Management (MDM) strategy and implementation.
  • Continue Phase 2 of ERP-to-SAP integration.
  • Enable architecture that supports ongoing acquisitions and future system onboarding.

Governance, Documentation & Standards

  • Own architectural documentation, ensuring systems, integrations, and data flows are clearly documented and current.
  • Maintain enterprise architecture diagrams and artifacts using tools such as Confluence and Draw.io.
  • Establish and enforce integration, data, and architectural governance standards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and eliminate redundant systems.
  • Contribute to long-range technology roadmaps and enterprise planning.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise, solution, or integration architecture.
  • Proven experience architecting complex, multi-system enterprise environments.
  • Strong background in:
    • Enterprise integration architecture (platform-agnostic)
    • Data architecture and ETL processes
    • API design and system-to-system integrations
  • Experience operating in multi-ERP environments, including SAP ecosystems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct reporting lines.
  • Demonstrated success translating technical concepts for business and executive audiences.
  • Strategic, big-picture thinker capable of balancing multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in wholesale distribution or similarly complex operational industries.
  • Background in acquisition-heavy or rapidly scaling organizations.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar integration platforms
    • Salesforce integrated enterprise environments
    • E-commerce platform selection and implementation
    • Master Data Management (MDM) solutions
  • Experience working within similarly sized organizations with complex integration ecosystems.
