Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

Purpose

Critical Peake Electrical Services is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in Computer-Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in electrical design, drafting, and field coordination for commercial and residential projects.

You’ll work alongside experienced electrical and project management staff to develop electrical layouts, design documentation, and as-built drawings—helping bring innovative electrical solutions from concept through completion.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAAD platforms.
• Support the engineering team with load calculations, circuiting, and equipment layouts under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and field teams to ensure design intent aligns with installation feasibility.
• Perform site visits to gather data, verify existing conditions, and assist with field documentation.
• Maintain and organize project drawing sets, redlines, and revision logs.
• Participate in the development of lighting, power, and control system plans for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
• Assist with material take-offs, panel schedules, and coordination with other trades.
• Support quality assurance and compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, local jurisdictions).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses & Work Experience

• Coursework or experience in Computer-Aided Architectural Design (CAAD), AutoCAD, or Revit required.
• Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Internship or project experience in electrical design, building systems, or construction.
• Familiarity with Revit MEP, Bluebeam, or BIM workflows.
• Understanding of construction documentation and design-build project processes.
