Job Description
MITRE’s systems engineering work identifies, nurtures, and promotes innovative technologies for solving challenging problems in transportation, aerospace, cyber, AI, mechanical, defense, health, enterprise business, and other systems. As a recent graduate, you will work with a team to apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following:
- Digital and model-based engineering
- System architecting
- Requirements Engineering
- Mission and system of systems engineering
- AI-enabled systems engineering
- Agile systems engineering
- Systems security engineering
- Mechanical engineering, structural analysis, thermal dynamics
- Aerospace engineering
- Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related degree program
- Knowledge of systems, mechanical or aerospace engineering theory
- Sustained excellence in academic performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying systems, aerospace, or mechanical engineering in internships or research/lab positions
- Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Rhapsody, Stella, iThink, Anylogic, Systemitool, or relevant SE design tools
- Ability to work independently to learn new engineering technologies, techniques, processes, languages, and best practices
- Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Experience with Digital Engineering and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Science & Technology capability assessments, trade studies, and analysis of alternatives
- Experience with prototype design and CAD
- Demonstrated interest in serving the public
Clearance
Candidates may be submitted for a U.S. Government Security clearance as determined by Department of Defense guidelines, including U.S. citizenship requirements.
Salary
$76,800 - $96,000 - $115,200 Annual
