About the role

About HygroMatik

HygroMatik is a successful, medium-sized company in apparatus engineering with over 55 years of market experience. At our headquarters in the northern Hamburg area, we develop and produce innovative and sustainable humidifiers and humidification systems with over 70 employees, which we distribute worldwide. As a member of the CAREL Group, we use and support international knowledge exchange and participate in the group's sales, service, and production site network.

Our devices and systems are used wherever humidity is crucial for well-being and product quality. This applies to ventilation and air conditioning systems for, e.g., office buildings, hospitals, or production facilities. Our humidification devices are also used in the spa/wellness sector.

Your Role

To strengthen our technology team and ensure our innovative strength, we are looking for you as soon as possible as a Software Development Engineer (m/f/d).

Your Key Responsibilities

You will develop the software intelligence of our devices – from control logic and visualization to PC-based design and configuration tools. Your work will be used in industrial applications worldwide.

Specifically, this includes:

  • Development and further development of embedded and control software for our humidification systems (logic, control processes, interfaces).
  • Programming of controllers and applications with VB.NET, ST (IEC?61131-3), possibly C/C++.
  • Design and maintenance of software architectures for device series and modular system solutions.
  • Development of Windows-based engineering, design, and configuration tools to support sales and project management.
  • Testing, debugging, and commissioning on modern hardware and software test benches.
  • Close collaboration with hardware development, production, and international product management.
  • Participation in international development projects within the CAREL Group.
  • Knowledge transfer, training, and occasional technical support complement your development work but are not the primary focus.

What You Bring

  • You have successfully completed your engineering degree with a focus on electrical engineering / automation technology / computer science or a comparable degree program.
  • Experience in software development in an industrial environment (PLC, embedded software, or technical application software).
  • Good knowledge in at least one of the following technologies: PLC / IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text), VB.NET / Visual Studio, C / C++.
  • Understanding of control processes, machine logic, or technical systems.
  • Experience with version control, structured code, and software testing is an advantage.
  • You have a meticulous, structured, and focused way of working.
  • You enjoy independently developing solutions and process improvements, as well as working in an internationally networked team, and looking beyond the obvious.
  • Very good German and English skills complete your profile.
  • Occasional exchange with our Italian headquarters on-site – especially during onboarding and for international development projects.

What We Offer

  • Permanent employment with an attractive salary package in a financially healthy and growing company with very long employee retention.
  • More than salary – we fulfill a wish of €50.00 net each month, whether with a voucher of your choice or a top-up on a credit card for local retail.
  • Kindergarten subsidy of max. €100.00 net/month.
  • Flexible working hours (37-hour week) and time off in lieu for a balanced work-life balance.
  • 30 days of vacation and up to two days of mobile office per week after onboarding.
  • Job bike leasing.
  • Free shared HygroMatik lunch once a month.
  • Company pension plan with increased employer contribution.
  • Varied work with short decision-making paths and an appreciative corporate culture.
  • Comprehensive and structured onboarding for an optimal start.

A high degree of creativity, independence, and initiative is not only allowed but desired here.

Would you like to help shape the performance portfolio of an international and dynamic medium-sized company with your know-how and drive for development? Then we would like to get to know you! Our HR Manager, Ms. Kristina Fürst (bewerbung@hygromatik.de), is looking forward to receiving your application documents and will also be happy to answer any questions you may have in advance (Tel.: 04193 / 895-0).
