Independent Metalworks is an Award Winning ornamental metal shop specializing in commercial tenant work and historic restoration in the DMV area. We are looking for a detail oriented, self motivated professional to join our team.

Job Summary

• Responsible for reviewing quote requests and creating bid schedules.
• Create scope sheets and perform detailed take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
• Submit timely requests for information to contractors.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding scope sheets, pricing breakouts, and questions regarding submitted bids.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Work alongside project manager, assisting with compiling spread sheets, reviewing shop drawings/submittals, and managing multiple project schedules.

Requirements

• Qualified candidates will have a on the job experience, or degree in a construction/architectural/or engineering field but not required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the metal industry
• Minimum 3 years steel estimating experience
• Ability to read and interpret Architectural drawings
• CAD experience a plus but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in problem-solving/analysis
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize
• Experience utilizing BlueBeam software and Microsoft Office applications. Strong MS Excel proficiency
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
