About the Role
You will join the “Ground Tests & Support” department within the Test Center and you will be part of the Ground Test Team. The “Ground Tests & Support” department performs testing activities on aircraft on ground, and organizes within the Flight Integrated Team all the ground and flight tests.
Within this Department, the Ground Test Team performs development, certification and qualification testing activities on aircraft on ground. It comprises the domains of the Avionics/Vehicle System, the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), the Radio, the Lighting, the Vibration/Acoustics and also the Flight Test Operational Support.
Our main goals are to ensure:
- maturity for flight tests by making the bridge with Design and avionics/vehicle rigs
- readiness of the prototype or production aircraft under test by supporting the Flight Test Engineer, Lead-Flight Test Engineer and Project Experimental Test Pilot who conduct the flight tests on the prototypes or production aircrafts.
Finally, we demonstrate compliance with regulation specifications and qualification requirements in order to get our aircraft certified / qualified.
This position is located at Marignane and you will report to the Head of Ground Test & Support department. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
This position is focussing EMC/EMI/Tempest tests and associated radio tests, with the specific responsibility to be the Discipline Metier Referent for those test activities, therefore also in charge of:
Responsibilities
- Advising / supporting the other colleagues on those specific tests
- Expertising specific problems and supporting troubleshooting
- Proposing together with Design Office colleagues design modifications for solving or improving issues
- Spreading right level of knowledge within the team
- Ensuring that dedicated tools are appropriate, at the state of the art, and triggering innovation for their evolutions or even developing new tools
- Being the main point of contact with dedicated Design Office (ETGS) for Metier, innovations, problematics
- Technical Verification of Metier deliverables (TVE)
In order to do so, you will have in a first step to master the basic activities of EMC/EMI/Tempest and Radio ground tests and the associated Metier processes:
- Organizing Ground Test activities on helicopter (development and certification) with related interfaces (Chief Engineering/Project, Proto Shop, Design department, h/c Test Coordinator/Test Squad Leader…),
- Preparing the tests (procedures, test means, H/C configuration check…),
- Performing the tests,
- Analyzing and validating test data with immediate debriefing/report before flight tests,
- Writing of Technical Fact reports and follow up of respective problem analysis,
- Releasing final Test report, for development and certification/qualification if needed
- Contribution to test strategies or test logic regarding ground test scope making the bridge between upstream means (e.g. H/C0, System Integration Rig, Virtual Integrated Platform and other simulations) and flight testing activities.
Required Skills
- You have an engineering degree in electronics/avionics or aeronautics.
- You have a high level of theoretical knowledge in EMC discipline.
Following additional experiences would be a plus:
- Practical EMC/EMI design/studies
- Radio communications development
- Testing Operations, including definition, execution and analysis
- Project management
- You have problem-solving abilities with proactivity and systematic continuous improvement approach, even if in a complex environment with many stakeholders and under time pressure.
- You have good analysis skills and communication skills and are rigorous.
- A negotiation level of French and an advanced level of English are required.
