Our client is a major player in the financial services sector, driving the future of customer interaction through cutting-edge digital platforms. They are undergoing a significant strategic pivot, moving their core digital ecosystem (covering web, mobile applications, and messaging channels) from a cost-allocation model to a fully service-based, commercially accountable business unit. This role is central to achieving their ambitious goal of full self-sustainability for their digital assets by 2027.
This is a career-defining opportunity to lead the entire digital channel ecosystem for a vast and influential organization. Reporting directly to the Executive level, you will be the architect of the multi-year strategy governing our App, Web, and high-engagement messaging platforms.
You won't just manage technology; you will own the entire commercial destiny of these channels. This involves transforming the operating model, establishing a robust P&L, and pioneering new revenue streams by transitioning services to a commercial pricing structure. You will lead a high-performing senior team, sponsoring a culture defined by lean operations, agile execution, and strong commercial discipline. Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overarching digital platform and channel strategy, setting the direction for App, Web, and WhatsApp propositions across the enterprise.
- Take full accountability for the consolidated platform P&L, driving profitability and establishing commercial pricing models to achieve self-funding status by 2027.
- Represent the digital channels function in critical Group-level forums, ensuring alignment with broader technology and business unit roadmaps.
- Champion and embed a 'Lean, Agile, Commercially Accountable' culture within the digital leadership layer.
- Lead, mentor, and guide a senior leadership team (6 direct reports), ensuring clarity of purpose, autonomy, and high performance.
- Manage complex executive relationships across Business Cluster CEOs, Group Technology, and Finance to govern commercial agreements and roadmap integration.
- Oversee key operational metrics, ensuring platform ROI improves quarterly and service availability meets stringent SLAs.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Commerce, or related field. Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- 10+ years in digital leadership, strategy, or commercial roles, ideally within a platform or multi-sided marketplace environment.
- Proven track record owning and managing a P&L for a digital business or product line.
- Demonstrated success in transitioning a business unit from a cost-allocation model to a commercial, revenue-generating entity.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships at an executive/Group level.
- Deep expertise in Platform Economy dynamics and multi-tenant commercial structuring.
- Strong strategic agility demonstrated by the ability to articulate and implement long-term platform visions.
- Exceptional executive presence and proven ability to lead cultural and structural digital transformation.
