About the role

WHO WE ARE

Jefferson County Immigrant Rights Advocates (JCIRA) Is a welcoming, community-led and community-funded organization, that centers the voices and experiences of immigrant communities—listening to their needs and working collaboratively to develop solutions. Through advocacy, community building, accompaniment, and direct services, we support the well-being and empowerment of the individuals and families we serve.

JCIRA believes in the inherent dignity and worth of all people. Our mission is to support the rights of immigrants and their families, with a focus on serving those who live or work on the Olympic Peninsula, and to immigrant detainees in Washington state whose families live in Jefferson or Clallam counties.

JCIRA envisions a community where everyone—regardless of where they were born—has equitable access to justice, respect, and opportunity. Together, we work toward a future rooted in hope, supporting individuals and families in securing the rights, resources, and representation they need to achieve their goals, build power, and strengthen the broader community.

THE ROLE

JCIRA is hiring its first Executive Director, transitioning from a longtime working Board. The Executive Director (ED) will serve as the strategic and operational leader of JCIRA, guiding the organization’s vision, programs, and sustainability. Ideally, the Executive Director will work primarily from Port Townsand.

The ED will be responsible for overall organizational management, including strategy, community engagement, fundraising, financial stewardship, and staff leadership. Working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, the ED will ensure alignment with JCIRA’s mission and values while strengthening the organization’s impact and long-term viability.

The ED will foster a collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented workplace culture, and will supervise a dedicated team of five part-time staff (Multicultural Center Administrator, Outreach Coordinator, Legal Services Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator).
