Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all actions reflect Sutherland Group Enterprise Core Values: Curious and Adaptable, Trustworthy, Humbly Confident, Better Together, and Make It Happen.
  • Actively contribute to a Safety First culture by championing and enforcing all safety-related initiatives.
  • Work with the HR Manager and hiring managers to identify upcoming talent needs and proactively develop sourcing plans.
  • Assist in the development of overall recruitment strategies.
  • Configure and maintain the ATS for all assigned roles.
  • Perform job and task analyses to document job requirements and objectives.
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs across appropriate platforms (job boards, educational institutions, industry associations, etc.).
  • Promote employment brand through social media engagement and responsiveness.
  • Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods based on the role, industry standards, and organizational needs.
  • Screen applications and select qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews and oversee preparation of interview questions and materials.
  • Assess applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience based on role requirements.
  • Assist with the interview process by attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR partners during the offer process, including salary recommendations and start date coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation and internal company policies.
  • Provide analytical, well documented recruiting reports to the HR team.
  • Build meaningful and influential candidate relationships throughout the selection process.
  • Plan or attend recruitment and networking events to support Sutherland Group talent needs.
  • Promote the company's reputation as an Employer of Choice.
  • Stay current on recruiting trends and make recommendations to improve recruitment programs.
  • Evaluate recruitment, selection, and onboarding effectiveness through 15/45/75 day check ins.
  • Support the HR team on additional HR projects as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in recruitment.
  • Familiarity with ATS systems (Breezy preferred).
  • Experience with HRIS platforms.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
