Your contribution will be

  • Leading the delivery of multiple complex or high-impact projects, often spanning countries, thematic areas, or strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across workstreams, stakeholders, and organisational objectives
  • Driving high-quality execution through matrix leadership of core teams, enabling cross-functional collaboration, consistency, and innovation across all stages of project delivery
  • Overseeing project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring effective use of resources and accountability for delivery outcomes across projects
  • Managing risks, issues, and dependencies proactively, anticipating systemic challenges and resolving the majority of project-related matters within core teams without escalation
  • Providing strategic oversight of project performance, translating progress, risks, and trends into clear insights to inform senior leadership and governance decision-making
  • Acting as a knowledgeable expert, providing guidance on complex challenges, shaping solutions, and mentoring project managers to strengthen delivery capability
  • Building and influencing senior stakeholder relationships, shaping consensus and ensuring clear alignment across departments and country offices
  • Enabling effective governance by preparing and presenting strategic recommendations and supporting informed decision-making
  • Having the possibility to deputise for the Project and Campaign Management Director as required, representing the department and acting as a sparring partner to ensure business continuity

Your profile ideally illustrates

  • Extensive experience leading complex projects, ideally within the non-profit or international development sector, with a proven track record of delivering initiatives spanning multiple entities, countries, thematic areas, and cross-functional teams
  • Practitioner-level certification in project management, such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Practitioner, or Scrum Master, reflecting formal mastery of established methodologies and frameworks
  • Full professional proficiency in English, with additional languages considered a strong asset for international collaboration and engagement across global stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and project management tools, such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent, to support planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of complex initiatives
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and coach project managers, influence senior stakeholders, and navigate complex organisational dynamics
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities, able to anticipate risks, resolve issues proactively, and drive consistent project excellence
