As the operational IT service provider for the Federal Employment Agency (BA), the IT System House operates one of the largest IT landscapes in Germany at its main location in Nuremberg/Fürth and at various locations nationwide. With over 100 in-house IT applications, 180,000 networked PC workstations, and the associated infrastructure, we are constantly developing this landscape.

As part of the IT System House, you will be employed under a collective agreement as an expert for business management tasks.

Possible work locations for this vacancy are: Nuremberg/Fürth, Berlin, Bochum, Chemnitz, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Krefeld, Lübeck, Mainz. Please indicate your preferred work location(s) in your application.

Your future team primarily works in Nuremberg. If you are hired at a 'satellite location', you must be willing to travel for training and as required for your duties. You will primarily use sustainable means of transport.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As an Expert Project Manager with a focus on 'Sustainability' for the IT System House of the Federal Employment Agency, you will be professionally responsible for the 'Sustainability' unit and the central point of contact for Green-IT and Sustainability within the BA, for the 'Sustainability' Staff Unit in the BA, as well as for internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks and goals in the context of sustainability:

  • Ensuring and complying with legal regulations from the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) and professional responsibility for implementing the Green-IT strategy of the IT System House with the goal of developing the IT of the BA into a sustainable organization.
  • Planning, monitoring, and coordinating all projects in this context from conception to implementation.
  • Creating detailed plans, allocating resources, risk management, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Ongoing further development of Green-IT fields of action: data center, workplace products, digitalization, procurement, as well as other areas of responsibility and ensuring the certification of the BA's IT according to EMAS and Blauer Engel.
  • Development and establishment of corresponding reporting (e.g., development and operation of a dashboard for CO2 balance including data acquisition and preparation) as well as the initiation and maintenance of a Green-IT community to involve all employees of the IT System House in the Green-IT program.

Requirements Profile

Prerequisites

  • Many years of relevant professional experience

  • Good knowledge of legal climate protection regulations (such as the Energy Efficiency Act or the Blauer Engel)
  • In-depth knowledge in the area of Best Practices 'Green-IT'
  • In-depth knowledge in the fields of sustainable data centers, workplace products, and digitalization
  • Strong communication skills to promote awareness of sustainability issues
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
