Senior Associate - Consultant, Strategy and Execution – Deal Finance

EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution Deal Finance (M&A) practice delivers transformative strategy, transactions and corporate finance services. We partner with CEOs, CFOs, Boards, Private Equity and Governments to develop deal strategies, execute separation and integration plans, identify value enhancement opportunities, and advise on risk mitigation and operational changes.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support and execute buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions focusing on the CFO agenda and Finance function.
• Assist with execution of projects across sectors and collaborate with client service teams to develop and execute transaction strategies.
• Develop experience across different types of engagements from pre-deal operational planning to post-deal integration or separation planning, execution, and tracking.
• Lead specific workstreams, track project status, and manage risks.
• Assist in pursuits and proposal development.
• Contribute to practice development initiatives.
• Learn and develop technical and personal skills through structured learning, coaching, and experiences.
• Cultivate strong working relationships with clients and support key decision makers.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 18 months of related work experience.
• Prior experience in consulting, Corporate Finance, or M&A advisory.
• Practical knowledge of and experience in the Finance function.
• Management consulting experience.
• Experience in one or more Finance areas such as accounting, financial reporting, planning and budgeting, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay.
• Knowledge of or experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Cognos or other common systems.
• Experience in financial process benchmarking, operating model, finance organization design, synergies, transition service agreements (TSA).
• Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with strong presentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively on projects and adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with ability to develop long-lasting relationships internally and externally.
• Excellent analytical skills and confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
• Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
• Must reside in or be commutable to office location.
• Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.

Ideally you may also have

• MBA is preferred.
• Previous experience in a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions role or another large professional services organization.
• Additional 6 to 12 months of industry experience.
