Facility projects is a division of ACV Facilities that is responsible for implementing capital construction projects for all of Air Canada Vacations Offices.

The preferred location for this position is Montreal.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes.
  • Provide guidance and recommendation based on technical expertise in the preparation of business cases to secure internal funding approvals.
  • Prepare cost estimates and provide recommendations to the Senior leadership team.
  • On major projects, retain consultants and contractors as required using appropriate contract documents and manage external contractors / consultants during the project phase and ensure projects are delivered to meet schedule and budget expectations.
  • Building and fostering long-term relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Maintaining advantageous relationships with suppliers and managing disputes.
  • Work with Air Canada Corporate real estate division closely for projects involving capital and or operating expenses.
  • Participate with AC CRE on creating RFP’s and overseeing competitive bidding cycles.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Interior Design accreditation and /or Architectural Technician, able to operate computer assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations and/or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading a group of professionals in capital construction projects from initiation to full operational status.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry is an asset.
  • Strong skills in Interior Design concepts, budgeting, and project management.
  • Experience in space planning.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Able to take on travel, on occasion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • PMI certification or the equivalent, an asset.
  • Position requires fluency in English and French.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems.
