About the role
About the Role
As a Technical Instructor for a Makers Lab, your role will involve teaching Node.js, Django, RDBMS, and Advanced Excel with a strong emphasis on producing high-quality work. You will be responsible for designing and conducting Makers Lab sprint cycles, focusing on projects like FinTech dashboards, Health Tech portals, and analytics tools for real users. Your evaluation of students will be based on the quality of their work and its sustainability, rather than just the submission. Additionally, you will guide students on web security standards such as OWASP Top 10, data privacy, and accessibility. You will lead the full deployment lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, cloud hosting, and containerization using Docker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Node.js, Django, RDBMS, and Advanced Excel with a focus on production quality
- Design and execute Makers Lab sprint cycles for various projects
- Evaluate students based on the quality of their work and sustainability
- Coach students on web security, data privacy, and accessibility standards
- Manage the deployment lifecycle including CI/CD pipelines, cloud hosting, and containerization
Qualifications Required:
- Hold an MTech, PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field
- Expert knowledge of Node.js (Express) and Django
- Solid RDBMS skills (PostgreSQL or MySQL), SQL optimization, and schema design
- Mastery of asynchronous JavaScript and ES6+
- Fluency in Advanced Excel including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and macro enabled dashboards
- Expertise in RESTful API design and real deployment experience with CI/CD and cloud hosting
In addition to the technical qualifications, we value individuals with a shipping culture mindset. You should measure success by the deployment and usage of your work and possess pragmatic architectural thinking skills. Furthermore, you should be able to inspire students to view their Makers Lab projects as potential products rather than just assignments.
Good to Have:
- Portfolio of live deployed web applications
- Prior experience in a startup, makerspace, or incubation lab environment
- UI/UX fluency with Figma or Adobe XD
- Open-source contributions to web frameworks or analytics libraries
Please note that this job also values individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who can guide students towards transforming their Makers Lab projects into viable products.
