As a Data Engineer Co op in the Group Functions Data Office, you will support BAU initiatives, process enhancements, and new operational procedures. You'll learn our data platform, infrastructure, and ETL best practices while developing skills in Azure, Databricks, and modern data engineering workflows. You'll work closely with experienced data engineers and gain hands on experience in data ingestion, curation, and reporting.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated student to join us in our Toronto, Ontario, Canada office for a 4 month co op, running from September 1st - December 18th, 2026. This is a hybrid position, where you are expected to be in the office Tuesday Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Position Responsibilities

• Support and enhance ETL pipelines and data workflows.
• Participate in data ingestion, transformation, and reporting efforts.
• Learn core platform and engineering practices through collaboration with senior team members.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and operational activities.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and libraries such as Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and PySpark.
• Data driven mindset and interest in data engineering best practices.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions and seek clarity.
• Resourcefulness and ability to work through challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of Azure cloud services; Databricks experience is an asset.
• Awareness of CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and operational workflows.
