About the role

We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on accounting professional to support a private family office overseeing multiple entities and investments. This role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash tracking, and coordination with external CPA firms and advisors.

This is an operational accounting role for someone who enjoys owning the details, maintaining accurate financial records, improving processes, and ensuring that accounting and compliance matters are handled proactively and professionally.

The ideal candidate is dependable, discreet, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both transactional accounting work and higher-level coordination responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain books and records for multiple entities using QuickBooks and related systems
  • Perform bank, brokerage, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable, cash tracking, and expense categorization
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages
  • Coordinate with external CPA firms on tax compliance, K-1s, year-end reporting, and related matters
  • Organize and maintain accounting, tax, and entity documentation
  • Track filing deadlines, tax notices, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and reporting requests
  • Support investment, partnership, trust, and real estate accounting activities as needed
  • Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Work closely with ownership and external advisors in a confidential environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong bookkeeping and general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities preferred
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Family office, private investment, real estate, or small/mid-sized CPA firm experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and month-end close processes
  • Experience coordinating with outside accounting and tax firms
  • Highly proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Self-starter who is comfortable operating independently
