Role and Responsibilities of Fashion Designer:

You will lead the development of women’s swimwear collections from concept through production, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, commercially successful designs. This role requires creative leadership, market expertise, and strong collaboration across the product lifecycle.

• Lead and develop women’s swimwear product lines from initial concept through garment production
• Communicate seasonal trends, colors, prints, patterns, fabrics, and key product direction
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute design concepts on schedule
• Drive alignment across product development, fit, merchandising, sourcing, raw materials, color and texture, planning, and product education teams
• Lead, mentor, and co-create seasonal concepts and design direction
• Develop and communicate a clear visual point of view using digital mood boards, decks, and inspiration tools
• Partner with merchants to balance commercial performance with innovation
• Monitor sell-through performance and respond to market shifts and consumer trends
• Design and execute swimwear styles aligned with Walmart’s design ethos and customer needs
• Apply strong understanding of pattern, movement, and technical construction to collaborate with fit, product development, factory, and 3D teams
• Attend fittings and participate in construction reviews, balancing aesthetics, function, and cost considerations

Required Skills and Experience of Fashion Designer:

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, or a related field with three years of experience in apparel design or garment construction
• Alternatively, five years of experience in apparel design or garment construction
• Extensive experience designing women’s swimwear within a commercial environment
• Strong understanding of swim market trends and consumer behavior
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with complex, multi-track calendars
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading design direction for a category or brand
• Experience mentoring junior designers
• Experience collaborating with sourcing and production teams

Compensation and Benefits of Fashion Designer:

• Annual salary range of $132,000.00 to $264,000.00
• Additional compensation through annual or quarterly performance bonuses
