About the role
About the Role
As a Field Application Engineer, you will work closely with Sales, customers, design teams, and factories to define requirements, evaluate solution options, and select the right products and systems. You’ll independently manage solution design while supporting key commercial activities, helping build long‑term customer relationships through high‑quality technical guidance.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with customers to understand technical challenges and tailor application solutions
- Translate customer requirements into standard applications and project solutions
- Identify opportunities to expand solutions through cross‑selling and upselling
- Manage product selection, system configuration, and basic solution design
- Develop complete technical solution packages (CAD, BOMs, specifications)
- Join customer meetings with Sales and support Key and Strategic Account Managers
- Perform feasibility checks, risk identification, and solution validation
- Ensure solutions align with manufacturing capabilities, quality, and cost targets
- Support quality investigations and documentation (e.g. RMA, deviations)
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or similar
- Experience in application engineering or technical support, ideally in industrial automation or manufacturing
- Solid knowledge of electro‑mechanical components, pneumatics, and motion control
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor) and MS Office
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Customer‑centric mindset, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail
- Collaborative, proactive approach and confidence working cross‑functionally
- Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel within the region
Nice to have:
- Experience with Salesforce, ERP systems (e.g. JDE), or PLM tools
- Knowledge of fieldbus systems, I/O, and industrial safety standards
