Field Data & Cost Control Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Field Data & Cost Control Analyst to support our operations team by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and accountability of daily field reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining clean data, improving cost tracking, and reinforcing field discipline through timecard and job reporting oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and audit daily timecards for accuracy and completeness
• Verify proper cost coding of labor hours in alignment with project scopes and budgets
• Check quantities entered for accuracy against expected production
• Validate equipment hours and ensure correct allocation to cost codes
• Review jobsite photos, notes, and descriptions for clarity, completeness, and usefulness
• Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information in daily reports
• Compile and submit daily summary reports highlighting issues, trends, and areas for improvement
• Communicate directly with foremen to clarify entries, ask questions, and resolve discrepancies
• Manage and take ownership of the reporting system to ensure consistency and reliability

As this individual improves reporting accuracy and creates efficiencies within the system, they will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and play a larger role in supporting operations and company initiatives.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies quickly
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to have direct, professional conversations with field personnel and fleet manager
• Basic understanding of construction operations, cost tracking, or willingness to learn!
• Comfortable working with digital reporting systems and spreadsheets
