Position Summary
The Field Manager will manage, lead and coordinate all field team development efforts and implement an annual strategic plan that will build momentum to achieve civic and political change for Asian youth Minnesotans. This position will work closely with the Advocacy & Policy Manager, Program Director and across department teams as thought partners and collaborators to advance the organization’s engagement and mobilization efforts towards a vision of progressive systemic change that centers the social and political power of Asian youth Minnesotans. This position will manage the field team of canvassers and coordinate efforts with our issues on the ground. They will implement the daily operations of the field team to meet projected metrics. The schedule will be from 11 AM - 7:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Fridays with occasional weekends. Travel to professional development in and out of state is required and may include weekends.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time 40 hours/week, exempt, in-person position with some evenings and weekends required. Salary is $56,100–$65,280 annually, based on experience. Future Of Us upholds pay equity and economic justice through transparent compensation practices, cost-of-living adjustments every two years, and annual raises of 1–3% based on performance and budget. Benefits include 80% employer-paid employee only health, dental, vision, PTO, STD, LTD, HSA, Life Insurance, Retirement plan, organization breaks and 10 paid holidays.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Program/Project Management
- Manage, propose program designs, set-up, track and prepare logistics, materials, supplies, equipment for the canvassing team/program.
- Lead field-related meetings, logistics, scheduling, and create and maintain records, reports, and presentations.
- Support and develop compelling messages that resonate with our voter base and align with the organization’s vision and objectives.
- Conduct participatory action research, focus groups, surveys, analyzing data, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand our voter base and develop winning messages and narratives.
- Design a phone canvassing program that involves staff engagement, leadership and continuous program improvement while meeting overall programmatic goals and metrics on voter base interests and concerns prioritizing organizing issues.
- Coach and train canvassing team on messaging strategy, slogans, scripts and talking points.
- Coaching and supervising a team of canvassers in setting and meeting daily goals of phone calls and conversations.
- Co-coordinate with Advocacy & Policy Manager on necessary community education and events to reach voters.
- Work with the Organizing Manager on coordinating volunteers to support canvassing efforts and meet goals.
- Assist in development of communication materials and best approaches to reach targeted audiences.
- Data Management and Reporting
- Setup and coordinate Voter Action Network (VAN) and Getthru logistics such as phone lists and scripts, and plan and prepare materials and technology for canvassing activities such as phones, doors, and events.
- Conduct quality control for all voters and analyze and organize field data; and provide VAN training, compliance and access to staff and volunteers.
- Provide monthly and quarterly progress to goal reports to the Program Director.
- Facilitation
- Lead growth and development of Future Of Us’s field organizing and canvassing plans and presence.
- Monitor and ensure the implementation of community engagement best practices, and non-partisan compliances with the organization’s standards, policies, and strategies and their duties as assigned.
- Coalition and Base Building
- The Field Manager will identify opportunities and support in developing strategies to build relationships and cultivate partnerships with local organizations, decision makers, businesses, and associations that align and advance our multi-year strategies.
- An important aspect of this role is maintaining one on one relationships with your leadership teams, and providing clear directions, expectations, resources, and training.
Must Haves
- At least two years of relevant experience in project management, strategic planning, community outreach, civic engagement, research, and data management, or comparable education and related experience.
- Preferred qualifications include background in elections or campaigns, field organizing, data analysis, and nonprofit or public policy work, with familiarity with the Twin Cities—particularly Asian American, immigrant, and refugee communities.
- The role requires strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills; proficiency in Google Suite and databases such as VAN or Every Action; and the ability to manage confidential data with sound judgment and accountability.
- Candidates must be equity-driven, able to work independently, flexible with evenings and weekends, available for statewide and occasional national travel, and possess a valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a vehicle.
