About the role

Position Purpose

The Field Marketer is responsible for executing marketing and merchandising strategies at store level while actively supporting sales growth. This role ensures brand visibility, campaign compliance, and strong client relationships, while also identifying and converting sales opportunities in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Execution: Implement marketing and promotional campaigns in allocated stores, ensuring compliance with brand standards and timelines.
  • Merchandising: Maintain product displays, stock rotation, and point-of-sale materials to maximize visibility and sales.
  • Sales Function: Drive product sell-through by engaging directly with store staff and customers.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities during store visits.
  • Support Area Marketers and Sales Managers with lead generation and territory sales targets.
  • Client & Store Engagement: Build respectful, professional relationships with store managers and staff, addressing concerns and supporting sales initiatives.
  • Market Feedback: Gather insights on competitor activity, customer preferences, and campaign effectiveness, reporting back to the Area Marketer/Sales Manager.
  • Discipline in Operations: Ensure accurate completion of daily activity logs, and compliance documentation for audit readiness.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Compliance rate with campaign execution standards.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of reporting and logbook entries.
  • Quality of merchandising (visibility, stock rotation, promotional compliance).
  • Sales contribution: upselling, cross-selling, and lead generation metrics.
  • Strength of client/store relationships (measured via feedback and retention).
  • Contribution to overall territory sales growth.

  • High level of discipline in daily execution and reporting.
  • Sales acumen: ability to identify opportunities, influence buying decisions, and support sales targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric certificate (minimum); marketing, sales, or business-related qualification advantageous.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in field marketing, sales, or merchandising.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Smartphone
  • Proficiency in reporting tools (Excel, mobile apps, or CRM systems).
