Field National Account Manager

The Field National Account Manager is responsible for achieving the set sales objectives in terms of Volume, Margin, Promotions, and Distribution with the relevant Key Accounts. Additionally, in this role, you will coach and manage 5 Retail Account Managers.

The role includes managing customer relationships, identifying and leveraging commercial opportunities, and motivating and coaching team members for optimal results. Key responsibilities include developing sales plans, analyzing market trends, and reporting sales performance to the Sales Manager Retail Netherlands.

The Field National Account Manager has direct responsibility for the Superunie account and its members. In the role of Field NAM, you are also responsible for the sale of residual stock and are the first point of contact for multiple processors.

What will you do?

As a Field National Account Manager, you are responsible for both strategic account management and managing your team. Your package of tasks is broad and challenging:

  • You develop and implement sales strategies for your key accounts (including Superunie and its members) with a focus on revenue growth, margin improvement, promotions, and distribution;
  • You independently conduct price negotiations and draw up contracts that contribute to sustainable, profitable customer relationships - including with residual stock traders and processors;
  • You lead a team of 5 Retail Account Managers, each responsible for their own territory. You coach, motivate, and support them in their professional development;
  • You build strong customer relationships at various levels and translate customer needs into tailor-made commercial solutions;
  • You closely monitor market developments, customer behavior, and competition, and translate these insights into concrete strategic actions;
  • You monitor progress on commercial KPIs and report performance and trends to the Sales Manager Retail Netherlands;
  • You provide input to internal project groups and actively contribute to product introductions, promotion plans, and assortment optimization based on customer data.

Profile

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commercial Economics, or a similar field;
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role that included independently closing annual deals and conducting price negotiations;
  • Extensive experience in the FMCG sector and with A-brands;
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in (price) negotiations;
  • Passion for the dynamics on the shop floor;
  • Proven ability to develop innovative sales strategies through commercial creativity;
  • Excellent communication skills, with a good command of the Dutch language in both speech and writing.
