Field Solutions Engineer

As a Field Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert technical support and driving sales by collaborating with designers and specifiers to tackle complex challenges with Hilti solutions. You will aim to secure specifications for Hilti-engineered products, consult on innovative designs, and assist customers in building smarter, stronger, and more sustainable structures while ensuring sound engineering judgment. This position is where collaboration meets impact, and your expertise will shape the future of construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in face-to-face, telephone, and electronic communication with sales personnel, strategic business leaders, and officials in code approvals.
• Craft competent written communication with clients to ensure technical accuracy while providing practical problem-solving insights.
• Conduct on-site visits to jobsites and offices to analyze application challenges and provide technical training and solutions.
• Investigate product failures within the field and deliver feedback to product management regarding local issues and customer insights.
• Explore business opportunities in the field through participation in customer surveys to aid product and market development.
• Contribute to local sales strategies and participate in management reviews aimed at improvement.
• Secure specifications and approvals for Hilti products focusing on high-potential designers, specifiers, and owners.
• Deliver professional seminars and presentations for A/E firms, detailing Hilti products, their performance attributes, and their applications.
• Offer well-informed recommendations to engineers, architects, and designers on specific applications based on sound engineering principles.
• Conduct field testing to validate Hilti product capabilities in untested scenarios.
• Review engineering specifications and calculations, providing thoughtful feedback to designers on accuracy and compliance with building codes.
• Utilize Hilti's software to maintain comprehensive records of communications and specifications to maximize sales opportunities.
• Manage jobsite information within the CRM system and actively engage in sales management activities.
• Relay application specifications between the design community and the sales team, assigning tasks to Account Managers for potential sales conversion.
• Keep an updated database of designers, influencers, and code officials, and collaborate with local agencies for necessary approvals.
• Understand local construction methods and building codes as they pertain to Hilti products.
• Provide insights on technical approvals and reports concerning Hilti's product offerings.
• Engage with local design and construction organizations like CSI and ASCE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required; a Master’s degree (technical or business) is preferred.
• Familiarity with construction methods and practices is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering or construction role is preferred.

The salary range for this position is between $91,000 and $107,000, with a target bonus of $16,200. Please note that salary may vary based on location and individual qualifications.
