About
The Finance and Accounting Specialist provides financial management, budgeting, and reconciliation support for CDC Division programs, including domestic and international operations. This role supports budget execution, procurement tracking, financial reporting, and coordination with program leadership to ensure fiscal accountability.
This position supports a government contract and is restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Documentation is required.
This is a mission-critical role that requires independent judgment, discretion, and the ability to resolve issues in real time while supporting senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Budget & Financial Management
- Maintain and track division budgets and spend plans
- Perform budget reconciliation and financial analysis
- Support development and execution of financial plans
Procurement & Financial Tracking
- Process procurement requests and track expenditures
- Maintain detailed financial records and reporting tools
- Support credit card purchases and documentation
Financial Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare financial reports and updates for leadership
- Track Undelivered Obligations (UDOs) and funding status
- Collaborate with program staff to forecast financial needs
Global & Program Support
- Support financial operations for international program activities
- Assist with budget planning for global field offices
- Provide financial insights during program planning and execution
Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3–5 years of financial management experience (federal preferred)
Experience with:
- Budget reconciliation
- Financial reporting
- Federal procurement systems
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and urgent requests
- Ability to work independently and resolve problems without constant supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
