Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance Functional Consultant to support Federal audit readiness initiatives. This is a pure functional role focused on financial processes, internal controls, compliance documentation, and audit support.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in federal financial management, audit compliance, internal controls, and ERP systems, with experience supporting large-scale federal audit engagements.
Responsibilities
- Support federal audit readiness initiatives and financial compliance programs
- Review, document, and improve financial business processes and internal controls
- Perform control assessments and identify compliance gaps
- Support audit walkthroughs, testing activities, and evidence collection
- Prepare and validate audit documentation and supporting schedules
- Assist with remediation planning and corrective action tracking
- Ensure compliance with OMB A-123, FMFIA, FISCAM, and GAO standards
- Support financial reporting, reconciliations, funds control, and budget processes
- Work closely with ERP system teams to validate financial data integrity and controls
- Analyze ERP transactions and system configurations from a functional finance perspective
- Collaborate with finance, compliance, IT, and program stakeholders
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Federal financial management or audit support
- Strong knowledge of federal audit readiness frameworks
- Hands-on functional experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar)
- Understanding of ERP financial modules such as GL, AP, AR, FA, Budgeting, and Funds Management
- Strong understanding of internal controls, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience with OMB A-123, FISCAM, GAO Yellow Book, FMFIA
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to work in structured federal environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting Federal agencies
- Active or prior Security Clearance (preferred)
- CPA, CISA, CGFM, or similar certification (preferred)
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or financial system modernization projects
