Finance Intern / Analyst
Haypp Group
About the role
About Haypp Group
At Haypp Group, we’re driven by a higher purpose to address one of the world’s biggest public health crises: how to put an end to smoking. Globally, there are still more than 1 billion active smokers, and every year around 8 million people die from largely preventable, smoking-related diseases. Our goal is to empower adult nicotine users to make less harmful choices and, in doing so, save lives. We do this by being the go-to online retailer for safer nicotine alternatives.
Haypp Group is one of the Nordic region’s leading e-commerce retailers when it comes to safer nicotine alternatives with 17 digital storefronts and an established presence in 7 countries. Nicotine pouches (snus) were invented in Sweden, so it makes sense that this is where our head office is based -but the US is by far our fastest growing market. Over the years, we’ve served millions of customers through our dedicated US site Nicokick, with that number steadily increasing.
With around 280 team members spread between Europe and the US, we’re now in the process of scaling our local operations in Arlington, Virginia. There’s no doubt that we are an innovative, fast-moving company on a strong growth trajectory. At Haypp Group, you’ll experience the perks of a Scandinavian-American workplace without having to move overseas. We are an open-minded organization with energy and drive, where ideas are welcomed from all levels and you’re valued for being you.
THE ROLE
As we continue expanding in the U.S. market, we’re looking for a Finance Intern / Analyst to join our US Finance team in Arlington, Virginia. This is an early-career role designed to give you broad, hands-on exposure to both controllership and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) within a fast-growing e-commerce business.
The majority of your work will focus on core controllership activities -supporting the monthly close, managing operating expenses, accounts payable, and rebate billing- giving you a strong foundation in how a business runs financially day to day. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to reporting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial projects.
This role is structured to flex between an internship and a full-time Analyst position depending on your experience and availability. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to build real finance skills from the ground up.
This is a full-time (or internship) role based in Arlington, Virginia.
What You Will Do
- Support monthly close and controllership processes, including OPEX tracking, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Maintain budget vs. actual tracking, proactively identifying variances and ensuring accurate cost allocation
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a smooth and timely close process
- Support AR/AP processes and supplier rebate management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with commercial terms
- Contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes, maintaining financial models and supporting G&A tracking
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis, KPI reporting, and performance insights to support business decision-making
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
- Support finance projects and help drive process improvements as the US finance function scales
What We Are Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build models, reconciliations, and structured trackers
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical mindset and interest in understanding business performance
A BONUS IF YOU ALSO BRING
- Previous internship or coursework exposure to accounting, AP/AR, or month-end close processes
- Experience working with P&L, OPEX, or financial reporting
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar
- Exposure to data tools such as SQL or visualization platforms
- Interest in e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods industries
How You Will Grow
- Gain hands-on experience across both controllership and FP&A in a high-growth business
- Build a strong foundation in financial operations, reporting, and analysis
- Work closely with senior finance leaders and receive continuous feedback
- Develop both technical finance skills and commercial understanding
- Opportunity to transition into a full-time Finance Analyst role as the business grows
