LINDERA

flexible Part-time Senior 3w ago

About the role

About LINDERA

LINDERA develops clinically validated AI for mobility and gait analysis. Our solutions are used in care, rehabilitation, and healthcare to detect fall risks early and maintain mobility. We work with health insurance companies, care providers, and healthcare systems in the DACH region and are preparing for market entry in the USA — as a Delaware C Corp, with the aim of being ready for scaling in the next 12–18 months: operationally, financially, and towards institutional investors.

The Role

This position rebuilds the Finance function for LINDERA — for the German GmbH and in parallel for the US entity. Smart, automated, AI-supported. You will work directly with the CEO and CTO and take responsibility for ensuring that every data point an institutional investor, a funding body, or an auditor wants to see is clean, up-to-date, and available at the push of a button.

The role is intentionally part-time (25h/week) and is aimed at people who want to re-enter the workforce, e.g., during a family phase — without making professional compromises. In terms of content, this is a senior position with real power to shape. Operationally, it is a hands-on role: anyone who empties the mailbox and masters DATEV is as much a requirement as understanding a US term sheet.

Prerequisites

  • Finance Setup (DE + US): Set up Chart of Accounts, Reporting Stack, and Closing Processes for both entities. US setup via Mercury, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Carta, and Fathom/Mosaic. DE setup via DATEV, in coordination with our tax advisor.
  • Investor Reporting: Monthly investor update and quarterly board package (P&L, Cash Flow, KPI Scorecard, Variance Analysis) — at the level expected by institutional investors. The US investors' requirements catalog is available and sets the standard.
  • Grant Projects: Processing of current and new grants with German bodies (BMWK, BAFA, EU programs) as well as US agencies (e.g., Department of Commerce, NIH mechanisms). Fund disbursement, usage verifications, audit trail.
  • AI and Automation Strategy: Set up Variance Analysis, Reporting Drafts, and Anomaly Detection with Claude/GPT workflows. Goal: 60–70% less manual effort with higher accuracy.
  • Operational Accounting: DATEV bookkeeping, EBICS banking, mailbox, receipts, payment runs, invoicing in CRM. This is not done by AI — we do it ourselves, cleanly and reliably.
  • Transfer Pricing & Compliance: Arm's-length documentation for the GmbH–US license agreement (IRS Section 482 / OECD), preparation for due diligence depth.
  • Cash & Forecast: Rolling 6-month planning, runway monitoring, three scenarios (Base / Up / Down).
  • Scalability Readiness: Build and curate a data room — structured, auditable, always presentation-ready for investors, partners, and authorities.

What you bring

  • Foundation: Audit, Tax, or Transaction background at a Big 4 firm (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte) at Senior/Manager level — or comparable. 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Dual Standard: Proficient in HGB, basic knowledge of US GAAP — or ready to build this quickly.
