Finance Systems Analyst

Position Overview

The Finance Systems Analyst supports and enhances financial systems, reporting, and data solutions to enable accurate financial analysis, reporting, and decision‑making. This role partners closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders and requires strong hands‑on experience with SQL‑based data environments and Microsoft analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Systems & Applications

• Support, maintain, and enhance finance systems and ERP platforms
• Act as system administrator or SME for finance applications (GL, AP, AR, FA, FP&A)
• Configure system rules, perform upgrades, and support ongoing enhancements
• Ensure financial data integrity, accuracy, and system controls

Data, Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and maintain complex T‑SQL queries for financial reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis
• Design, build, and maintain SSRS reports for operational and financial reporting
• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and datasets for Finance and leadership stakeholders
• Support data models, transformations, and validation to ensure reporting accuracy
• Partner with Finance teams to improve data quality, accessibility, and insights

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Support

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
• Translate finance requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions
• Provide second‑level support for finance system and reporting issues
• Deliver user training, documentation, and reporting best practices

Month-End & Compliance Support

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close cycles
• Assist with audit requests, system controls, and data validation
• Support SOX controls, access reviews, and compliance initiatives (as applicable)

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, and reporting migrations
• Collaborate with IT and vendors on integrations and data pipelines
• Identify opportunities to automate and optimize financial and reporting processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience supporting finance systems or analytics platforms
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • T‑SQL (advanced querying, joins, CTEs, performance tuning)
  • SSRS (report development and maintenance)
  • Power BI (dashboards, DAX, datasets, data modeling)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday Financials)
