An exciting 6-month maternity cover opportunity is available for a hands-on Financial Accountant who can step into a fast-paced finance environment and make an immediate impact.

This role offers excellent exposure across creditors, cash flow forecasting, VAT, reporting, and operational finance functions within a structured corporate environment. You will work closely with the Financial Manager while supporting critical finance processes and ensuring strong internal controls.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys operational accounting, thrives under deadlines, and is looking to gain valuable contract exposure within a dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review creditors reconciliations and payment runs
• Investigate PPV variances and process invoice adjustments
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and Treasury requests
• Process credit card transactions and foreign payment documentation
• Assist the debtors department where required
• Prepare monthly journals and financial reports
• Compile and submit Hyperion reports
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with ad hoc finance tasks
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and finance procedures

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

• Relevant Financial Accounting experience essential
• Exposure to operational finance and reporting
• Contract or multinational exposure advantageous

Skills

• Advanced Excel (non-negotiable)
• SYSPRO advantageous
• Hyperion advantageous
• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
