About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, COIDA)
  • Manage cashbook administration
  • Maintain and review the General Ledger, accruals, and control accounts
  • Manage debtors’ books across a group of companies
  • Perform supplier reconciliations and review payments prior to release
  • Prepare monthly journals and financial month-end packs
  • Review and authorise Forex differences
  • Ensure alignment of contractual payments with budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor and control costs and budget commitments
  • Manage cost control workflows and reporting
  • Ensure accurate accruals and work-in-progress reporting
  • Provide detailed variance analysis between budgets, commitments, and actuals
  • Support continuous improvement of financial reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and IFRS requirements
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, and contribute to effective decision-making

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Accounting (essential)
  • SAIPA accreditation (essential)
  • 3–5 years’ relevant financial experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial legislation
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience with financial systems such as Sage, BPO, or EVO
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and treasury functions
