Financial Accountant

A well-established and growing business within the FMCG sector, with operations spanning farming and distribution, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented finance professional to work in a fast-paced environment where operational efficiency and commercial insight are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full financial accounting function up to trial balance
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Handle VAT and statutory submissions
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management
• Support costing and margin analysis within the FMCG and farming operations
• Monitor and improve financial controls and processes
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external auditors
• Assist with year-end audits and compliance requirements
• Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Relevant Accounting qualification (BCom or similar)
• 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
• Previous experience in FMCG, agriculture, farming, or distribution highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of financial controls and accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
