Financial Accounting Associate

Our client is a leading diversified capital manager. They seek a Financial Accounting Associate to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close activities, including preparing portfolio details and recording journal entries, with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and analytical insight into portfolio performance
• Compile daily and monthly account analyses and SOX-compliant accounting workpapers to ensure audit-ready financial statements
• Produce management and regulatory reports to inform leadership and meet compliance requirements
• Analyze and communicate variance drivers across the balance sheet and income statement, linking results to business activity
• Coordinate audit support by preparing schedules and facilitating interim and year-end audit processes
• Drive cross-functional initiatives beyond core accounting, including reporting, process improvement, automation, and systems projects

Requirements

• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Financial services industry required
• Public or private experience
• Financial product knowledge is a plus (mortgage products, loans, mbs, msr, etc)
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical
• Ability to get Series 96 & 63 post-employment
• Experience with SQL is a plus
