This role is not for someone to just “do the books.” We need a financial architect who views a Trial Balance as a dataset waiting to be optimized. As the Capital Discipline Specialist, you will sit at the high-stakes intersection of Accounting, FP&A, and Systems Engineering.

Your goal? To hunt down cost leakages, automate the mundane using AI, and ensure the margins are bulletproof in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

You won’t just report on the past; you will build the systems that protect the business’s future. You will own the Cash Conversion Cycle and transform raw TB data into a strategic roadmap for ROI.

Salary

R30 000 to R45 000 per month, commensurate with qualification and experience.

Minimum Requirements

The Tech-Forward Accountant

• You have a Degree/Diploma in Finance/Accounting, but “speak” data.

ERP and AI Mastery

• You are a Pastel/Sage power user who has already experimented with (or implemented) AI automation or advanced Power BI/Excel modelling.

FMCG Grit

• You understand the pace of retail/manufacturing and the precision required for month-end deadlines.

The Optimizer

• You don’t just find errors; you build the process to ensure they never happen again.

Key Performance Areas

Financial Forensic and Intelligence

• Deep dive into trial balance data to identify hidden cost leakages and margin erosion at the SKU and campaign level.

AI and systems transformation

• Lead the integration of AI tools and automation to streamline financial workflows, moving the department from manual processing to real-time data visibility.

Margin and price engineering

• Develop high-level costing models and ROI frameworks that fuel pricing strategies.

The Engine Room

• Oversee the full-function accounting cycle (AP/AR, Cashbook, and Statutory Compliance) with a focus on “clean data” that scales.

Capital Stewardship

• Optimize working capital by managing the cash conversion cycle and resolving complex supplier/client queries with a commercial mindset.
