Role Overview
You will join ICON plc as a Financial Analyst II in Chennai. Your role will involve providing independent, objective financial and consulting services to specific support department lines within the business, helping ICON achieve its objectives by evaluating company performance and strategic direction in a global, systematic, and disciplined manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports and analysis to Support Department leaders.
- Assist in developing ongoing and new financial management initiatives and projects.
- Aid in preparing monthly and quarterly Support department reporting packs.
- Conduct detailed research on variances by understanding GL and transactional level details to support Support departments.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and detailed headcount reports for each Support department.
- Offer financial support and KPI analysis for all business planning initiatives.
- Gather and track business and functional requirements, provide impact assessments, and identify gaps.
- Analyze and translate data into key strategic inputs and insights to drive decision-making.
- Help develop annual and long-term financial plans for support departments and work on high-level ad hoc projects while meeting routine goals.
Qualifications Required
- Fully qualified CA / ACA / CIMA / ACCA.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in an industry financial role with some level of financial analysis reporting.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and transforming data into information.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability develop relationships with Executive and Senior Business Leaders.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles with a business focus.
- Excellent Excel knowledge.
- Good systems experience, with Oracle, Hyperion, and PowerPoint being advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Ambitious, able to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
