About the role

Position Specific Requirements

  • Responsible for ensuring the department follows safe work practices and supports corrective actions identified through plant safety audits.
  • Prepares and supports daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting, including but not limited to:
  • Serving as backup for weekly hourly payroll processing and related journal entries.
  • Coordinating Accounts Payable activities with the offshore Shared Services team in India.
  • Managing Accounts Receivable processes, including entry and maintenance of purchase orders in the ERP system, processing customer credit/debit memos, and supporting collection of past-due balances.
  • Handling intercompany transactions such as netting, debit memos, in-transit inventory, and pricing adjustments.
  • Preparing manual invoices as needed.
  • Performs full month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, financial analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and all relevant account reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Maintains the daily MRO spending tracker to monitor and control monthly expenditures.
  • Supports the physical inventory process, including tag management and control.
  • Conducts periodic audits of Bills of Materials and routings to validate product costing accuracy.
  • Monitors ERP system checklist reports to identify and resolve costing discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports and materials for daily operations accountability meetings.
  • Oversees the fixed asset register, ensuring it is properly maintained and reconciled to the general ledger.
  • Supports the timely and accurate preparation of government-required reports and filings.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Assists with the annual budgeting process.
  • Serves as backup to the Controller on costing-related matters.
  • Supports both internal and external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control policies; escalates any GAAP or control-related questions to local management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
