About the role
A boutique wealth management firm in Knysna, Western Cape requires a Financial Manager for holistic financial planning and investment advice. You will conduct needs analyses, develop tailored plans, recommend investment and insurance products, and conduct regular portfolio reviews. The role services a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the external audit process, preparing audit files, responding to queries, and ensuring timely sign-off of financial statements.
- Develop annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts, monitoring performance and providing variance analysis with detailed commentary.
- Ensure full compliance with all tax legislation and regulatory requirements, managing preparation and submission of all tax returns.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and modelling to support business cases for capital investments, acquisitions, and new ventures.
- Analyse credit applications and financial statements to assess creditworthiness and make recommendations on lending decisions.
- Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, including preparing cash flow forecasts and managing banking relationships.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board on financial performance, risk, and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics with an honours degree or postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
- For credit roles, thorough understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and experience with credit rating models.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, tax legislation, and the Companies Act in South Africa.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen to understand the broader context of financial decisions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in financial management, investment analysis, or a related field.
