Financial Modeller (Mid-Level / Senior)

A well-established project finance advisory firm is looking to appoint one or two Financial Modellers to join its growing advisory team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in bespoke project finance modelling, enjoys working on real transactions, and wants exposure across the full project lifecycle — from feasibility through to financial close and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, refine, and maintain complex, bespoke Excel-based financial models
• Develop project finance models for limited recourse debt structures
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess project viability and risk
• Support transaction advisory and project finance workstreams
• Translate technical model outputs into clear, commercial insights
• Prepare structured databooks and manage version-controlled assumptions
• (Senior level) Review models and mentor junior team members

Requirements

• Mid-level: 1–4 years relevant project finance modelling experience
• Senior: 4+ years experience in project finance financial modelling
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VBA advantageous)
• Solid understanding of project finance principles and cash flow structuring
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to engage confidently with clients, lenders, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or similar
• Postgraduate financial qualification (e.g. CFA) beneficial but not essential
